Weblogic

Weblogic was created in 1995 by Bob Pasker, Laurie Pitman, Carl Resinikoff and Paul Ambrose. Weblogic is credited with creating the first J2EE application server. Presently the company is owned by Oracle Corporation. Oracle WebLogic is a bundle of Java Enterprise Edition platform products. The bundle of software contains Java EE server, WebLogic Application server, WebLogic portal and enterprise Portal, an HTTP server and other softwares. Other softwares include transaction server and infrastructure, WebLogic Tuxedo, a telecom platform and WebLogic communication Platform.

Web Logic server also is an integral part of the Oracle Fusion Middleware. It supports a number of JDBC complaint databases that include Oracle, DB2, MS SQL Server, MySQL enterprise among other database management platforms. WebLogic server is .NET interoprable an also supports integration of CORBA connectivity, IBM Websphere connectivity, enterprise grade JMS messaging and COM+ connectivity. Data mapping functionality and Business Process management are included in WebLogic Server process edition.
